Job Guidance
got to site, signed in had a site induction shown the fire procedures and first aider was on site, and had full ppe on to start the job as it is are company policy and stated in a are compant hand book |
used the chain gage on the old chains to see if they had stretched, using the diagrams on the gage itself and found they had stretched 3.5inchs to long |
placed my lotto on the isolator to make sure lift would not be turned on during the work i was going to carry out. |
clapsed ram down to remove pressure from the system removing the spool in the valve block |
removed chain cover over the pully wheels using a 13mm spanner |
tied a one ton sling around the chains for support, followed the approved maintenance schedule for replacing chains |
using the pliers i removed both split pins from the anchor attatched to the car and slinged the chain to the car to stop the chain slipping |
used the pliers to remove the pin so the chain and anchor are no longer attatched together and repeated thismon both side and the ground anchors |
lowered both chains into the pit using the sling tied the chain and tackle to support the weight |
removed all anchors with adjustable spanners |
laid chains down out side and counted the links on the old chains to get the right measurement, done this on both old chains |
counted the same amount of links on the new chain and used the chain splitter to seperate the extra chain left |
fitted new anchors and blots on the lift car and pit anchors |
placed chains over the wheel with a sling to hold the weight |
fitted new chains to the anchors using new pins and split pins |
checked to see if the chain was not twisted and placed the chain guards back on |
hand pumped car back under pressure |
removed pit props |
lowered car to ground floor and through to check the over travels |
repeated the over travel in the top floor aswel |
adjusted anchors in the pit to get the correct over travels using two adjustables on the nuts |
checked over travels again with a tape measure to make sure there was the correct over run |
cleanned up any mess on site i had made and placed all tools and rubbish back into the van |
left lift at ground floor and turned off for futher work that has to be carried out |
filled out PDA in full detail of repair/replace of chains and got customer to sign work sheet and signed out from site, and left site |
